About the author Brent Massey

Brent Massey is an Christian author, publisher and computer teacher.

He took several composition, journalism and creative writing classes before and after college. He kept a journal for twenty years and wrote a novella about Thailand while living in Japan. After that, Brent spent seven years in the IT industry. He worked at ING-Barings in Tokyo, IBM and NEC in Silicon Valley, and later Colorado State University and the University of Hawaii. He finally seized hold of his dream to be an author after moving to Hawaii.

Brent loves being abroad and has traveled throughout Asia and Europe. Brent spent three years studying, working and teaching in Japan. While working in Japan he traveled to Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Burma and Singapore. He frequently travels to Japan with his Japanese wife and bilingual kids. His study and writing interests are Christianity, Victory in Christ, Holy Spirit, Faith, and Revival.

Brent Massey is the author of Discovering the Water of Life.
A book about stepping into a victorious life in Christ and experiencing a transformation and renewal through baptism of the Holy Spirit. He describes God’s inner work, Christian dream interpretation, and God’s refining fire.

Brent Massey is the author of Culture Shock! Hawaii : a Guide to Customs and Etiquette.
This book helps the newcomer and the traveler understand the complex culture of Hawaii. The book explains the different ethnic groups and how to conduct business with the people of Hawaii. It has tips on how to socialize and settle into life in Hawaii. It also includes an introduction to the food, history, and language of Hawaii.

Awards
Brent Massey was awarded the Japanese Monbugakusho (Ministry of Education) scholarship for his research proposal on personality type, Asian culture and international relations. The Monbugakusho is a highly competitive scholarship that is equivalent to the American Fulbright scholarship.

Other achievements
Brent Massey has climbed ten fourteeners (14,000 foot mountains) in the U.S. and Mt. Fuji in Japan. He is also a graduate of the Colorado Outward Bound twenty-three day wilderness survival course.
